Fresh Secret began with a simple frustration.
If you’ve ever tried to find truly great fruit and vegetables in the UK, you’ll know the feeling. You walk into a shop hoping to buy something fresh, seasonal and full of flavour - the kind of produce that reminds you of summer markets and family kitchens. Instead, you often find fruit that looks perfect but tastes bland, vegetables that travelled thousands of miles, and organic options that cost a small fortune.
For us, this felt especially strange.
Growing up in Italy and Croatia, access to high-quality produce was simply part of everyday life. Fresh fruit and vegetables weren’t luxury items - they were normal. You bought oranges that tasted like sunshine, tomatoes that smelled like tomatoes, and vegetables grown by farmers who cared deeply about the land.
It wasn’t something special. It was just how food was supposed to be.
When we moved to the UK, we quickly realised how different the experience was. Good produce was either extremely expensive or surprisingly disappointing in quality. Many products were heavily treated, grown for durability rather than flavour, or produced in industrial systems that felt far removed from traditional farming.
We kept asking ourselves the same question: why is it so hard to find food that should be simple?
That question eventually led to the idea behind Fresh Secret.
We wanted to create something that solved this problem not only for ourselves, but for anyone who values real food. The concept was straightforward: connect people directly with farmers who grow exceptional produce, and deliver it straight to their homes.
No unnecessary middlemen. No produce sitting in warehouses for weeks. No compromise on quality.
Instead, we work with farmers who care deeply about what they grow. Many of them are family farms with decades - sometimes generations - of experience cultivating their land. Their fruit and vegetables are grown with care, harvested at the right time, and shipped fresh.
The result is food that tastes the way it should.
Fresh Secret is about bringing back the kind of produce many of us grew up with - food that’s natural, seasonal, and full of flavour. The kind of ingredients that make cooking exciting again and remind you why simple meals can be the best ones.
It’s also about transparency. We want our customers to know where their food comes from and who grows it. Behind every box is a farmer, a piece of land, and a story worth sharing.
In many ways, Fresh Secret started as a personal mission. We simply wanted access to the kind of produce we knew and loved growing up.
But along the way we realised something bigger: a lot of people in the UK were looking for the same thing.
Fresh Secret is our way of bringing a little more sunshine, flavour, and honesty back to the table.
