Navel or Navelina oranges are a seedless blond-fleshed citrus variety characterized by a twin navel or “navel” inside the fruit, from which they get their name. The variety is particularly prized for its sweet, juicy flavor with moderate acidity. Navel oranges are also known for their thick, easy-to-peel skin, making them an excellent choice for fresh consumption or for making desserts, candied fruit and jams. This orange variety ripens in October/November, and is the first of the Sicilian Oranges to ripen!
